About CREDO
What is CREDO?
CREDO (Chaplains Religious Enrichment Development Operation) is a program sponsored by the Navy Chief of Chaplains. It provides a variety of cost-free workshops, retreats, and seminars for service members and their families. The program is designed to enhance spiritual well-being and build personal, relational, and spiritual resilience to help individuals and families thrive in the military environment.
Our Mission
Since its inception in 1971, CREDO's mission has been to strengthen the spiritual wellness and improve the lives of service members and their families. Originally established as the Chaplains Response to the Emerging Drug Order to address issues of drug abuse among returning Vietnam veterans, the program has evolved to focus on spiritual growth and strengthening relationships. The core of CREDO's mission is to provide a supportive and accepting environment where participants can develop self-esteem, learn to respect themselves and others, and take responsibility for their lives.
Who is it for?
CREDO programs are available to all active duty and reserve service members and their immediate family members, including spouses and dependent children. While some programs are tailored for individuals, others are designed for couples or entire families.
